AirAsia Resumes Kuala Lumpur-Pattaya Route, Promotional Fares Available

AirAsia Malaysia (AK) has unveiled the highly anticipated revival of its services from Kuala Lumpur to Pattaya, Thailand, set to commence on June 17, 2024, with thrice-weekly flights. This development marks the airline’s return to the East Coast of the Gulf of Thailand, providing direct connectivity from Kuala Lumpur to Pattaya.

The relaunch of the Kuala Lumpur-Pattaya route signifies AirAsia’s commitment to expanding its network post-pandemic, particularly in Thailand. Pattaya becomes the airline’s ninth direct route to Thailand from Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, and Penang, following previous routes to Bangkok (Don Mueang International Airport and Suvarnabhumi Airport), Krabi, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Hatyai.

The announcement comes shortly after the initiation of AirAsia’s ‘Takeover Thailand’ campaign, aimed at promoting Thailand as the preferred travel destination for passengers from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and beyond. As one of Thailand’s most popular tourism destinations, Pattaya offers a myriad of attractions, from its pristine beaches to vibrant markets, catering to diverse preferences.

Bo Lingam, Group CEO of AirAsia Aviation Group, expressed delight in reinstating services to Pattaya, highlighting the significance of direct connectivity to the city. He emphasized AirAsia’s commitment to enhancing accessibility to second-tier cities like Pattaya, anticipating a surge in travel demand between Malaysia and Thailand, further propelling the success of the ‘Takeover Thailand’ campaign.

To commemorate the route resumption, promotional fares starting from RM99* all-in one-way from Kuala Lumpur to Pattaya (U-Tapao) and THB990* all-in one-way from Pattaya to Kuala Lumpur are available for booking until March 24, 2024. These promotional fares apply to travel between June 17, 2024, and June 16, 2025, and can be booked on airasia.com and the AirAsia MOVE app.

The revival of the Kuala Lumpur-Pattaya route signifies a significant step towards rejuvenating air travel between Malaysia and Thailand, offering travelers more options for seamless connectivity and affordable fares.
