Chonburi Launches Aid Projects for Elderly and Disabled Residents

A series of initiatives aimed at alleviating suffering and enhancing the quality of life for the elderly, disabled, and underprivileged residents have been launched at the Sattahip District Hall in Chonburi Province. The projects include the distribution of survival bags and the provision of wheelchairs and essential equipment to those in need within the community.

The efforts resulted in Sattahip District receiving 200 survival bags and 40 wheelchairs, along with necessary equipment. These supplies are intended for disadvantaged individuals, including the poor, elderly, and disabled residents of the province. The successful implementation of these projects was achieved through collaboration between public and private sectors, which worked together to identify and assist those most deserving of support.

Part of the fiscal year 2024 plan to improve the well-being of vulnerable groups in Chonburi Province, the initiatives represent a partnership between the provincial government, all districts, and the Chonburi Red Cross Society. The goal is not only to provide material aid but also to boost morale and offer encouragement, thereby enhancing the overall quality of life for recipients.

It was reported that the event was presided over by Mr. Thawatchai Srithong, Governor of Chonburi Province, and Ms. Prapassara Srithong, President of the Chonburi Red Cross Society. Village headmen, representatives from the Sattahip Red Cross Branch, and relevant government agencies participated in the distribution efforts, ensuring assistance reached the underprivileged, poor, and disabled individuals in their respective communities.

Additionally, these projects serve to honor His Majesty the King, the Royal Patron of the Thai Red Cross Society, on the occasion of his birthday anniversary on July 28, 2024. The initiatives reflect a commitment to offering merit and paying tribute to the monarchy while addressing the needs of vulnerable populations in the province.
