At 5:00 PM on March 22, 2024, Pattaya’s Public Disaster Relief Radio Center received a report of a fire incident at an apartment within Bua Khao alley, Nong Prue sub-district, Bang Lamung district, Chonburi province. Upon notification, firefighting and rescue teams swiftly responded to the scene to assess the situation. The fire erupted in a five-story apartment on the second floor, room 202, where flames were seen engulfing the area upon arrival. Firefighters promptly initiated suppression efforts, utilizing water jets and extinguishers, and managed to bring the blaze under control after approximately 30 minutes. A thorough inspection revealed extensive damage within the room, with belongings charred by the flames.
Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries. According to Mr. Dendhong Pakti Sisantikul, aged 48, who resides in the apartment, smoke was initially observed emanating from the room. Attempts were made to extinguish the fire using a fire extinguisher, but the dense smoke hindered breathing, prompting an urgent call for assistance. The apartment’s foreign owners disclosed that smoking materials were likely left unattended, leading to the ignition of the fire.
