Government Ensures Completion of Rama 2 Road Projects

Government spokesman Chai Wacharonke has affirmed recently that all construction endeavors along Rama 2 Road are slated for completion by next year, heralding a significant alleviation of traffic congestion.

Chai’s reassurance comes in the wake of a social media exchange regarding the traffic situation on Rama 2 Road with Move Forward MP for Bangkok, Rukchanok Srinork.

In a recent post, Chai responded to queries about the notorious traffic conditions on Rama 2, citing his own journey from Hua Hin to Bangkok, which took approximately two hours and 40 minutes. His observations contradicted claims of severe congestion.

Rukchanok, in turn, criticized Chai’s assessment, likening it to Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin’s controversial bike ride in Chiang Mai, where air pollution concerns were dismissed.

She challenged Chai to reside in the Rama 2 area for a month to experience the genuine traffic woes faced by locals.

Addressing these concerns, Chai underscored the government’s commitment to expediting construction projects along Rama 2 Road, mandated to conclude within the upcoming year.

Among the ongoing projects are the Rama 3-Dao Khanong-western Bangkok outer ring road, the Bang Khun Thian-Ekkachai section of Thon Buri-Pak Thor elevated road, the Ekkachai-Ban Paew segment of the number 82 motorway, and the Ban Paew elevated road in Samut Sakhon province.

Chai emphasized the paramount importance of public safety during construction, stipulating work hours from 10 pm to 5 am the following morning.

Despite occasional congestion, Chai asserts that overall traffic flow has notably improved along Rama 2 Road.
