The highlight of the event is the continuation of the cherished Songkran tradition, recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. This prestigious recognition was bestowed upon Thailand on December 6th, 2023, in Kasane City, Republic of Botswana. With the support of the Thai government and various organizations, efforts are underway to elevate the Songkran festivities, not only in Hua Hin but across the nation.

General Krit Puangwalaisin emphasized the collaborative efforts of the government and private sectors in organizing the Songkran event. The decision to relocate the venue from Dechanuchit Road to Phae Mai Hua Hin Market was made to ensure better logistics and accessibility while preserving the essence of the festival. Ms. Busaba Choksuchat highlighted the municipality’s support for the event, with the Mayor of Hua Hin personally backing the initiative.
TAT Prachuap Office, under the leadership of Ms. Worakarn Thaworn, is actively promoting the event to attract both local residents and tourists. The aim is not only to boost economic growth and tourism in Hua Hin but also to instill a sense of pride in preserving traditions like wearing floral-patterned shirts during Songkran.

Mr. Kitiphong Siripetchakasem outlined the exciting lineup of activities planned for the festival, including a Little Songkran basket-neck contest, water blessings from elders, and exhilarating concert performances. Safety measures are paramount, with the venue equipped to accommodate over 1,000 vehicles and ensure a secure environment for attendees.
