Officials joined forces with municipal leaders in Hua Hin, Thailand, as they collaborated with Chaiwat Sibunruang, the director of the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Center for District 4, Prachuap Khiri Khan, to address the pressing issue of drought. Together, they deployed water pumps to extract water from natural sources in the Hua Hin district, specifically in the area of Ban Hua Hin, to augment the water level in the Hua Na reservoir. The increased water supply aims to facilitate distribution to households suffering from the scorching heat.

The discussion on drought mitigation strategies within the municipal area of Hua Hin convened various key figures, including Atichat Chaisri, the deputy mayor, and Udom Duangkae, chairman of the municipal council. Also present were Thongchai Petchsangkham, vice chairman of the municipal council, Chit Saksee, council member, and Jirawat Phramane, the municipal clerk. The meeting, held at the Municipal Office in Hua Hin, focused on identifying challenges concerning water scarcity and formulating short-term, medium-term, and long-term solutions.
In the short term, directives were issued to establish water distribution points near the police station in front of Wat Khao Krai Laht. These points will cater to communities affected in areas such as Chumchon Takiep, Huadon, Huatton, and nearby, where the decrease in water levels has disrupted regular water supply through pipelines. Residents experiencing water shortage are urged to report their grievances at the community service unit at the Takiep Police Station. Water distribution trucks will operate from 09:00 to 16:00 to provide relief until the situation stabilizes.

Officials emphasized the dedication of personnel to address the crisis promptly and the necessity of patience from affected residents. The Waterworks Division is tasked with preparing accurate information to enlighten the public, fostering a better understanding of the ongoing measures taken to mitigate the effects of the drought.
