Hua Hin Municipality Adopts Solar Energy Initiative

On April 10, 2024, Mr. Jirawat Phramanee, the Mayor of Hua Hin Municipality, spearheaded a solar energy experiment with Mr. Kulyuth Kuyukham, the Director of the Engineering Office, and Mr. Sutthipong Pasurattan, the Head of the Municipality’s Office, in collaboration with the Electricity Authority of Thailand. This trial marks the inauguration of the solar rooftop system, aligning with the city’s commitment to sustainable energy and mitigating global warming.

The initiative aims to install solar rooftop systems in municipal offices, allowing them to generate their own electricity and reduce continuous expenditure on power bills. Solar rooftop systems harness solar energy and convert it into electricity using solar panels. The installation, carried out on the fifth and seventh floors of Building 2, involves converting solar energy into direct current (DC) before transmitting it to inverters, which convert it into alternating current (AC) for consumption within the office premises. Initially, the offices will continue to draw power from both the solar rooftop system and the regional power grid due to the substantial electricity consumption. However, the goal is to gradually increase reliance on solar energy.

Moreover, Mayor Jirawat Chaisri, along with Deputy Mayors Miss Phailin Kongpan and Rear Admiral Likhit Nounin, and Miss Panyaros Panjasri, the Head of the Takiab Public Health Service Center, along with medical personnel and engineers, observed a physical therapy demonstration. Conducted by Prapas Engineering Supply Co., Ltd., the demonstration showcased state-of-the-art equipment utilizing high-intensity laser therapy along with heat and cold treatment. This Italian QMD-branded device aids tissue repair, including wounds, muscle and nerve injuries, and inflammation reduction. Additionally, preliminary discussions on expanding and upgrading the facility’s infrastructure were held to meet the municipality’s development policy in becoming a leading physical therapy center, supporting the well-being of the community.

Lastly, preparations for the STRONG seminar were discussed on April 4, 2024, chaired by Mr. Attichat Chaisri, the Deputy Mayor of Hua Hin Municipality, alongside Mr. Thonngonsak Muangmani, the Head Coach of STRONG, and Mr. Jirawat Phramanee, the Mayor of Hua Hin Municipality and Chairman of the STRONG Organization, along with the municipal council, government officials, and relevant personnel. The seminar, scheduled for April 5, 2024, aims to combat corruption within local government agencies in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. This event falls under the project “Building Mental Strength and Transparency in Anti-Corruption Organizations,” planned for five activities in the fiscal year 2024, supported by the National Anti-Corruption Commission’s fund.
