JUST IN: Visa Revoked! Swiss National Accused of Assault in Phuket

In a concerning turn of events, the Immigration authorities have made the decision to revoke the visa of a Swiss national, identified only as Mr. David, following an incident involving physical assault on a Phuket doctor. The victim, Dr. Thandao, also known as Dr. Pai, has taken legal action against Mr. David, who is reported to be the managing director of Elephant Co., Ltd. Sanctuary Park.

The altercation, which occurred on the night of February 24, 2024, prompted calls for Mr. David’s expulsion from the area. Subsequently, the Governor of Phuket Province and the Phuket Provincial Police Commander penned a letter to the Immigration Bureau urging them to consider revoking his visa.

Pol. Col. Parinya Klinkasorn, Deputy Commander of Immigration Region 1 and Deputy Spokesman of the Immigration Bureau, announced on March 7, 2024, that Pol. Maj. Gen. Songprod Sirisuka, Commander of Immigration Region 6, has approved the revocation of Mr. David’s visa as recommended by Phuket Provincial Immigration. Pol. Col. Parinya emphasized that Mr. David’s behavior posed a threat to society and warranted action under the Immigration Act of 1979.

According to Pol. Col. Parinya, Phuket Provincial Immigration will notify Mr. David of the visa revocation and detain him in the Phuket Provincial Immigration detention room. Despite the decision, Mr. David retains the right to contest the assault charges and seek bail until the case reaches its conclusion.

Pol. Col. Parinya reaffirmed the commitment of Phuket Provincial Immigration to operate within the confines of the law while prioritizing the safety and tranquility of the community.
