Korat Dentists Call for Action Amid Fear Over German Man

NAKHON RATCHASIMA — The Nakhon Ratchasima Dental Association has urged police to act against a 41-year-old German man accused of repeatedly attacking dentists across the province, sparking fear among local clinics. Despite reports dating back to November 2024, authorities have made no apparent progress in the case.

On March 17, association representatives filed a report at Nakhon Ratchasima City Police Station, citing multiple violent incidents involving the man. The latest occurred on March 14 at a dental clinic inside a well-known shopping mall, where he allegedly forced his way into a private area, verbally abused a dentist, and caused panic among staff. CCTV footage from that day was included in the report.

Further evidence submitted to police includes video from November 30, 2024, showing the same man violently entering a dental clinic in Cho Ho subdistrict. According to reports, he broke down a door, assaulted a female dentist by biting her lips and slamming her head against a wall, and vandalized property before leaving. The victim, traumatized by the attack, has been unable to return to work.

The association has warned clinics across the province to remain on high alert. The man, who resides in Don Chomphu subdistrict, is also accused of sending threats, including death threats, to local dentists via social media. His wife has told authorities that he has a history of psychiatric treatment in Germany but has refused medication since moving to Thailand.

Despite multiple complaints filed at Nakhon Ratchasima City and Pho Klang police stations, authorities have yet to detain the man. Dr. Wiwat Chatwongwan, who filed the latest report, warned that the situation could escalate if the suspect were to bring a weapon to a clinic.
