On March 14, 2024, in the meeting room of Pattaya City Hall, Chonburi Province, Mr. Pramet Ngampichet, the Mayor of Pattaya City, presided over a significant gathering. The committee convened to support the resolutions of the Pattaya City Health Assembly No. 1/2024, with Mr. Ratchai Suthidechanai as co-chairman of the C.P.C.P., alongside advisors, working groups, and affiliate partners in attendance.
The objective was clear: to drive forward the resolutions of the Pattaya City Health Assembly and foster participatory health public policy. This initiative aligns with The National Health Act 2007, which mandates the organization of health assemblies in specific areas or on particular issues, as prescribed by the National Health Commission (NCPO).
Pattaya City orchestrated a process to develop health public policies, encouraging network partners to engage in knowledge exchange and express diverse opinions openly. A workshop was conducted to devise a strategic plan for health promotion and disease prevention among the people of Pattaya and Chonburi Province. The 2nd Pattaya International Health Assembly, held at Grand Palazzo Pattaya Hotel, concluded with a comprehensive report on activities and lessons learned from the 2023 assembly.
Efforts were made to drive the Koh Larn Community Health Constitution, addressing various issues such as land and water security, stray dog management, and youth leadership development programs. Waste management and chronic non-communicable disease prevention were also prioritized, with community involvement crucial for success.
The assembly further appointed a working group to spearhead the implementation of the Pattaya City Health Constitution and occupational group constitution. This collaboration aims to formulate strategies and plans for city planning, budget allocation, and communication strategies to promote awareness and engagement in the health constitution development process.
The road ahead involves designing mechanisms to address key issues and establish indicators for success, ultimately leading to tangible results and expanded social innovation.
