Pattaya City officials, led by Deputy Mayor Mr. Manoch Nongyai, inspected the ongoing construction of the walkway roof at Laem Bali Hai Pier. The initiative aims to provide shade and shelter for both citizens and tourists from the sun and rain.
The maintenance of the Bali Hai Pier bridge has become imperative due to its prolonged deterioration, risking safety concerns for pedestrians and vehicles alike. Concerned about potential structural damage, Pattaya City intervened and commissioned a renovation project for the pier bridge, alongside the Bali Hai Pier Walkway Roof Project.

Despite encountering delays in construction, attributed to various challenges during the repair and enhancement processes, significant progress has been made. Approximately 80% of the bridge repairs have been completed, with the remaining 20% expected to be finalized by March 2024, despite the hurdles posed by tides.
The walkway roof project features a distinctive design resembling ocean waves, fitting seamlessly with the pier’s maritime theme. Utilizing galvanized steel frames to reduce costs, the installation ensures that the weight of the roof is distributed solely onto the bridge beams, alleviating any additional burden on the bridge structure itself.
While the completion timeline has experienced setbacks, Pattaya City remains committed to finishing both projects concurrently, assuring citizens and tourists of enhanced safety and comfort at Bali Hai Pier before the upcoming Songkran festival.
