A recent meeting at the Grand Plazzo Hotel in Chonburi Province brought together key stakeholders to advance Pattaya’s bid to become a UNESCO-recognized Creative City in film. Organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Pattaya office in collaboration with Pattaya City, the 2nd/2024 committee meeting was chaired by Pattaya City Mayor Pramet Ngampiches. Representatives from various agencies, including the Eastern Special Development Zone Policy Committee Office (E.S.D.P.O.), Chonburi Provincial Culture, Tourism, and Sports, the Film Archive (Public Organization), the Thai Animation and Computer Graphics Entrepreneurs Association, and the Chonburi Provincial Tourism Industry Council, also participated.
The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of activities aimed at promoting Pattaya as a creative city in the film industry, following UNESCO’s guidelines. Discussions included the implementation of projects in the 2024 fiscal year, with a view toward assigning responsibilities for upcoming activities in 2025 to drive the region’s development as a film hub.

It was reported that officials in attendance provided suggestions to ensure continued progress in promoting the region’s film industry and enhancing its global visibility through UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network.
