On April 3, 2024, Prachuap Province initiated stringent inspections at gas stations to safeguard consumers from exploitation during the upcoming Songkran festivities. Led by Deputy Governor Mr. Khomkrit Charoenpattanasombat and other officials, the inspections aimed to uphold fairness and trustworthiness in commercial transactions, particularly with the influx of travelers during the holiday season.
The inspection team, including provincial authorities and representatives from relevant departments, meticulously examined fuel pumps across Prachuap Province. This proactive measure was essential to prevent any potential exploitation of citizens and tourists, ensuring that they are not subjected to unfair pricing or deceptive practices.

Mr. Khomkrit Charoenpattanasombat emphasized the accuracy of fuel meters in service stations, reassuring the public that they adhere to legal standards. Conducted using a standard 5-liter measuring tank, the tests confirmed compliance with regulatory requirements, instilling confidence among consumers as they prepare for their Songkran journeys.
In the event of any malpractice, consumers are encouraged to report instances of price gouging or other discrepancies to the Department of Internal Trade hotline or provincial commercial offices. Stringent legal actions, including fines and penalties, await offenders found guilty of violating consumer protection laws.
As the Songkran festival approaches, Prachuap Province remains committed to upholding transparency and fairness in commercial transactions, ensuring that consumers can celebrate the holiday with peace of mind and confidence in their purchases.
