On August 15, 2024, a meeting was held at the Prakarang Conference Room, Welfare Residence Building at Ao Manao, Wing 5, led by Kittipong Sukpakul, Deputy Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The meeting focused on the province’s 2024 Integrated Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Exercise, specifically addressing large-scale road accidents. The gathering included the project’s advisory team, management committee, training operations team, and evaluation committee. Given the high traffic volume on Phetkasem Road, which runs through Prachuap Khiri Khan, the risk of major accidents is significant, as seen in the December 2024 bus crash that had widespread emotional and psychological impacts.

This initiative aims to improve the coordination and effectiveness of emergency response agencies, volunteers, and related organizations. The goal is to ensure that all involved parties are better prepared to handle large-scale accidents, providing confidence to both rescue personnel and the general public.
The training exercises are scheduled for September 3-4, 2024, and will include table-top exercises (TTX), skill demonstrations (Drill), and a full-scale exercise (FSX) simulating a major road accident. These drills will take place at Ao Manao, Wing 5, and aim to test the command and control during such incidents, integrate manpower and resources, and establish correct emergency response standards to minimize loss of life and property.
