Road Safety Enhancements for Songkran in Hua Hin

April 9, 2024 : Mr. Udorn Dungka, Chairman of the Municipal Council, led a session involving various agencies to reinforce safety measures during the upcoming Songkran festival. The meeting aimed to address road accident prevention strategies and reduce casualties.

Summarizing road accident data reported from January to March 2024, officials highlighted the need for robust safety initiatives. Plans include deploying service points during the hazardous seven-day festival period and intensifying measures against drunk driving, overspeeding, and ensuring seatbelt and helmet use.

Furthermore, the committee proposed traffic redesigns, such as traffic lanes behind Hua Hin Temple, to enhance convenience and safety. Additional measures, including illuminated islands and warning signs installation, aim to mitigate risks, ensuring a safer festival for all.
