In a recent crackdown by the Surat Thani Provincial Immigration Office, authorities uncovered the illicit operation of ALSPA Beauty Clinic, a beauty salon posing as a medical facility in Koh Samui’s Bo Phut Subdistrict. The salon, reportedly owned by a Russian woman identified as Miss Yulia, was found to be offering a range of medical procedures without proper licensing.

Investigations revealed that the salon promoted its services extensively on various social media platforms, showcasing foreigners as service providers. Among the treatments offered was a procedure involving spinning platelets and injecting them into clients’ bodies, a process requiring specialized expertise to mitigate potential risks to life.
During a raid on March 13, 2024, immigration officers apprehended two foreigners providing facial beauty and massage services to foreign clientele. The individuals, identified as Mrs. Liliia and Mr. Alexander, both of Russian nationality, were found to be working without proper work permits or authorization.

Further scrutiny uncovered a cache of pharmaceuticals, including restricted medications lacking Thai language labels, suggesting their unauthorized distribution within the establishment. Additionally, confiscated items included beauty products, medical equipment like plasma mixers, used syringes, and outpatient cards, all indicative of the salon’s unlawful operation as a healthcare facility.
As a result of these findings, Miss Yulia faces charges for operating an unlicensed healthcare institution, violating the Hospital Act, and unlawfully distributing pharmaceuticals. Mrs. Liliia and Mr. Alexander were charged with working without permits and engaging in illegal occupations, respectively.
The crackdown underscores the authorities’ commitment to upholding regulatory standards in the healthcare sector and ensuring the safety and legality of medical practices within the region.
