A troubling incident emerged as a video clip surfaced on Facebook, shedding light on sewage overflow issues plaguing Na Jomtien Soi 8 and its impact on the adjacent sea. The clip showcased a significant discharge of dark black water onto Na Jomtien beach, sparking concern among social media users and prompting calls for immediate action. The incident, which unfolded in Village No. 1 of Na Jomtien Subdistrict, Sattahip District, Chonburi Province, drew swift responses from local authorities. Na Jomtien Subdistrict Municipality and Pattaya City swiftly deployed resources to address the situation, employing a backhoe to spread sand and mitigate the wastewater discharge.

Subsequent updates from reporters indicated a return to normalcy, with tourists seen enjoying clear waters devoid of black stains. However, remnants of the incident lingered, with some areas displaying minor debris along the coastline. Pattaya City clarified its jurisdiction over the area, emphasizing its wastewater treatment capabilities at Soi Wat Bunkanchanaram, capable of processing substantial volumes daily. Nonetheless, challenges persist, hindering the effective channeling of wastewater to the treatment facility, underscoring the need for continued collaboration and solutions to prevent such environmental hazards.
