South Korean Tourist Falls to Death from Pattaya Hotel Balcony

A South Korean farmer tragically fell to his death from the 10th floor of a hotel in Pattaya, leaving his friends in shock. The incident occurred recently when local police were informed of a fatal fall at a hotel in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. Authorities rushed to the scene, including officers from the Pattaya City Police Station, forensics teams from Chonburi, and emergency rescue personnel from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation.

The hotel staff revealed that the group of South Korean tourists, including the deceased, Mr. Byung Yong Lee, had checked into the hotel the previous day. The victim’s friend awoke in the middle of the night to find Mr. Lee missing from the room. After a search of the hotel premises, the friend discovered Mr. Lee’s shoes still in the room and then noticed what appeared to be a body below the balcony. Security staff confirmed the tragic discovery that Mr. Lee had fallen to his death, landing on the fifth floor.

Through an interpreter, the victim’s long-time friend, who had been sharing the hotel room with him, stated that they had been friends for more than 30 years. The group had spent the evening drinking and socializing before retiring to their rooms. It was noted that Mr. Lee had appeared heavily intoxicated, but how he ended up falling from the balcony remains unclear.

It was reported that police officers arrived at the scene to document evidence and ordered the transport of the deceased’s body to the Police General Hospital’s forensic institute for an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death.
