Thai police have arrested a Spanish national in connection with a distressing and unfortunate incident on the picturesque island of Koh Phangan, Surat Thani province. The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Daniel Jeronimo Sancho Bronchalo, stands accused of the murder and dismemberment of his Colombian male partner, Mr. Edwin Miguel Arrieta Arteaga, a 44-year-old surgeon.
The arrest took place on Friday, August 4th, after authorities suspected Mr. Daniel of killing Mr. Edwin and disposing of his body at a landfill on the island. The case came to light when relatives of the victim lost contact with him upon his arrival in Thailand for a planned meeting with Daniel during the famous Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan. Worried about his well-being, they collaborated with the tourist police to locate the pair, who had allegedly booked a hotel together.
Upon further investigation and questioning, the suspect admitted to the crime, disclosing that an argument stemming from a desire for intimacy escalated, leading to the tragic outcome. Reportedly, Mr. Daniel punched Mr. Edwin until the latter’s lifeless body struck a bathtub, resulting in his death. In an attempt to cover up the crime, the suspect then dismembered the body and attempted to dispose of the remains.
As the case gained attention, it was discovered that Daniel is the son of prominent Spanish actor Rodolfo Sancho and the grandson of the legendary Spanish actor Felix Angel Sancho Gracia. The revelation was met with surprise, as Daniel was believed to have a promising future in the culinary industry, following his passion as a chef.
Upon learning about the accusations against his son, Rodolfo Sancho traveled to Thailand promptly to address the situation. The family expressed disbelief and shock, as they had never expected such a tragic turn of events involving Daniel.

The legal proceedings are being conducted diligently, and an arrest warrant has been issued by the Koh Samui Provincial Court, charging Daniel with intentional and premeditated murder, as well as concealing the body to hide the crime.
