Thai Meteorological Department Issues Warning of Heavy Rain and Flash Floods in Most Parts of Thailand

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has issued a forecast of persistent heavy rain across most parts of Thailand until Tuesday, July 25. The public is urged to exercise caution and remain vigilant due to the potential risk of flash floods and overflows.

The prevailing monsoon trough, which spans across various regions of Thailand, is expected to bring intense downpours to the Northeast, East, and the West coast of the Southern region. As the monsoon trough shifts to other countries in the region, the weather conditions are projected to improve by Wednesday, July 26, or Thursday, July 27.

With the possibility of severe weather conditions leading to flash floods and overflows, the TMD has issued a warning, particularly for residents living along waterways and low-lying areas. It is essential for individuals to stay cautious during storms and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety and that of others.

For motorists, exercising extra care on the roads is crucial during this period of heavy rainfall to mitigate potential hazards and accidents.

Furthermore, the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf are expected to encounter strong winds and thunderstorms. To ensure safety, owners of small boats in these areas are strongly advised to remain onshore and stay informed about the latest weather forecasts.

As the nation grapples with the ongoing heavy rain and potential weather-related challenges, the Thai Meteorological Department urges everyone to stay informed about the developing weather conditions and act prudently to protect themselves and their communities from any adverse impacts.
