Minister of Commerce, Jurin Laksanawisit, expressed his satisfaction with the event’s outcome, highlighting the significant increase in attendance compared to previous iterations. From May 23 to 27, a remarkable 131,039 individuals flocked to the trade fair, marking a substantial 58% surge in visitor numbers. Among them, the number of business visitors reached an impressive 78,764 persons, signifying a notable 53% rise compared to the previous edition.

During THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2023, retail sales were exclusively available on the final day of the expo. A whopping 52,275 members of the general public seized the opportunity to explore the exhibition, marking an extraordinary 66% increase compared to the previous THAIFEX iteration.

The value of transactions resulting from the expo amounted to a staggering 120 billion baht, showcasing an impressive 81.36% surge from the previous fair. Notably, certain product categories proved to be particularly lucrative, including food, fruit and vegetables, food technology, machinery, and equipment, as well as tea and coffee. Additionally, food services such as food business knowledge and information services contributed significantly to the high trade values. China, Thailand, the United States, Malaysia, and Japan emerged as the top countries placing the most orders, respectively.

Minister Jurin emphasized the substantial impact of THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2023 on Thailand’s food export figures, predicting a significant boost in the nation’s food export revenue. This year, Thailand is anticipated to generate around 1.5 trillion baht from food exports, surpassing the 1.36 trillion baht recorded in 2022. With its remarkable success, THAIFEX – Anuga Asia 2023 has positioned Thailand as a key player in the global food and beverage industry, further solidifying its status as a top exporter in the market.
