In an ambitious celebration of art, culture, and natural beauty, the QV consortium recently announced the launch of the inaugural International Sand Sculpture Festival 2024 (ISSF) in Chonburi, Thailand. Scheduled to commence from April 30th to May 19th, 2024, the event promises a mesmerizing blend of creativity and tradition, set against the backdrop of Thailand’s renowned beaches and vibrant heritage.
The festival, a collaborative effort led by QV, aims to showcase the splendor of sand as an artistic medium, drawing inspiration from Thai literature and mythology. Spearheaded by renowned Thai sand sculpture artist, Professor Ploy Chanatip Chuenbamrung, the event will feature a lineup of globally acclaimed artists including David Billings from Vietnam, Sergi Ramirez from Spain, and Toshihiko Hosaka from Japan, among others. These artists will join forces to craft stunning sand sculptures, including the largest sandcastle in Thailand and mythical creatures from the Himmapan forest.
