Thailand has launched a new one-stop service center aimed at streamlining investment, visa, and work permit procedures for foreign investors and expatriates. The Thailand Investment and Expat Services Centre (TIESC) officially opened on Monday in the One Bangkok complex, located in the Pathum Wan district of central Bangkok.
Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra presided over the opening ceremony, emphasizing the government’s commitment to facilitating investment through digital innovation and modern technology. The TIESC is a collaborative effort between the Board of Investment, the Immigration Bureau, and the Department of Employment, providing integrated services to support foreign businesses and professionals operating in Thailand.
The center occupies the 6th and 7th floors of the Parade Zone at One Bangkok, at the intersection of Witthayu and Rama IV roads, near Lumpini Park. It is designed to serve as a central hub for processing investment applications, visa approvals, and work permits, reducing bureaucratic hurdles for expatriates and foreign enterprises.
Prime Minister Paetongtarn highlighted Thailand’s ongoing economic transition, noting that investment applications in 2024 reached a decade-high, with 3,100 projects valued at 1.1 trillion baht. She described TIESC not only as a service center but also as a cultural bridge fostering international business connections and opportunities for growth.
During the event, the Prime Minister also expressed condolences to the families of earthquake victims and reassured the public that the government was managing the situation effectively. She reaffirmed Thailand’s status as a safe and attractive destination for both investors and tourists.
