Thailand Mobilizes Assistance for Thai Citizens in Conflict-Hit Laukkaing, Myanmar

In response to the conflict turmoil in Laukkaing, Myanmar, a concerted effort has been launched by Thailand to aid more than 160 Thai citizens caught in the midst of the crisis.

Varawut Silpa-archa, the Minister of Social Development and Human Security, asserted active coordination between his agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Royal Thai Police to facilitate assistance for Thai nationals affected by the conflict in Laukkaing.

Confirming the focus on assessing the number of impacted individuals and arranging necessary travel and aid provisions, Minister Varawut highlighted the multifaceted approach, encompassing considerations regarding human trafficking and security concerns in the region.

A joint meeting involving the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Royal Thai Police is on the agenda to strategize and implement further measures aimed at providing comprehensive support to the affected Thai citizens amidst the challenging situation in Laukkaing, Myanmar.
