Thailand Prepares for Songkran Amid Water Concerns

Thailand gears up for Songkran while grappling with water scarcity concerns. On April 9, Hua Hin Mayor, Napaphon Wutthikun, chaired a meeting discussing the city’s water situation. As the Songkran festival approaches, anticipated high tourist influxes raise concerns about water usage. The mayor directed the Municipal Waterworks to manage water distribution efficiently amidst increased demand. Specifically, measures include redirecting water from various sources to meet community needs. In light of this, a designated team will coordinate efforts to address potential water scarcity. Additionally, officials urge residents to conserve water and report any issues promptly.
