Thailand Pushes Businesses Toward Full Digital Registration

Thailand’s Department of Business Development (DBD) is urging entrepreneurs and the public to adopt its new digital registration platform, DBD Biz Regist, launched in January 2025, as part of efforts to modernize business services and support economic digitization.

The DBD Biz Regist platform now handles over 54 percent of all business registrations nationwide. It offers a fully online process available around the clock, including weekends and holidays, aimed at enhancing user convenience and reducing operational costs.

The system was developed to minimize in-person queues and streamline documentation. A notable feature allows applicants to choose their own registration date, appealing to individuals who wish to align with culturally significant or auspicious days.

Applicants can verify their identity using one of three methods: the DBD’s own e-Service app, the Ministry of Interior’s THAID app, or in person at selected DBD offices. After successful verification, users are issued credentials to sign documents digitally, which helps safeguard sensitive information by reducing the need for repeated data entry.

Support is available through DBD’s main office, six branches in Bangkok, and provincial centers. Additional help can be accessed via the LINE platform, Call Center 1570, or the department’s email service.

The department has set July 2025 as the target for completing the shift to online-only registration. Officials say the change is expected to improve service delivery and stimulate business activity by simplifying startup procedures.

In recent statements, DBD Director-General Oramon Sapthaweetham noted that simplifying business registration is a key step in aligning with Thailand’s broader digital transformation strategy.
