Thailand’s Longest Skywalk Set to Open in Suphan Buri by 2025

Suphan Buri province is gearing up to unveil the longest skywalk in Thailand as the construction of the skywalk at U Thong Ancient City Nature Trail progresses on schedule, with completion expected in 2025.

Governor Nattapat Suwanprateep of Suphan Buri announced that the first phase of the skywalk construction has been successfully completed, and work on the second phase is currently underway, targeting completion within the next four years.

Stretching an impressive 500 meters in length and reaching a height of 32 meters, the skywalk will offer visitors breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes. Access to the skywalk will be facilitated by a nine-floor glass elevator, adding an extra element of excitement to the experience. Safety and stability have been prioritized in the design, with each floor panel constructed from durable safety glass capable of supporting weights up to 500 kilograms.

The construction process involves excavation of high-density rocks from the mountain and secure attachment of beams to the mountainside. Additionally, six 24-millimeter bars have been embedded into the slope to enhance safety measures.

Governor Nattapat expressed confidence in the stability and strength of the skywalk, emphasizing the collaboration of specialists in creating a secure and visually appealing tourist attraction. He further highlighted that a field survey conducted at U Thong Ancient City Nature Trail will contribute to the development of a comprehensive plan for sustainable tourism in the province.

The skywalk aims to serve multiple purposes, including the promotion of historical tourism, particularly related to the Dvaravati period. It is also expected to attract Buddhist pilgrims and visitors seeking a spiritual connection, enhancing the province’s appeal as a destination.
