Two British Arrested in Krabi Nightlife Raid

Two British nationals found themselves in legal trouble during an inspection of nightlife venues in Krabi Province on April 2nd. Immigration officials, accompanied by local police, conducted the operation in the Ao Nang Subdistrict of Mueang Krabi District.

During the inspection, authorities uncovered foreigners working without the necessary permits. Among them were Miss Karen, 37, and Mr. Gareth, 45, both British citizens. Miss Karen was serving as an MC, while Mr. Gareth was employed as a DJ in a nightclub. When asked to produce their work permits, they were unable to do so, leading to their arrest on charges of working without authorization.

Following the arrests, a Thai woman named Miss Warintorn, who identified herself as the bar manager, confessed that the establishment was operating as a nightclub without proper authorization. Consequently, she too was arrested on charges related to running an unlicensed establishment.

All three individuals were subsequently taken to the Ao Nang Police Station to face legal proceedings.

Authorities emphasized the importance of such inspections in Krabi, a popular tourist destination, to ensure the safety of both visitors and residents. They urged citizens to report any suspicious activities to Krabi Provincial Immigration for prompt action.
